4th edition of the New Horizons Studio took place on 21-24 July 2013 during the 13th T-Mobile New Horizons IFF (18-28 July 2013). During the 4-day workshop, the young professionals were able to gain knowledge on film promotion, marketing, sales, pitching, networking and festival strategy.
Speakers included experienced professionals: David Pope and Alex Boden (London Film Academy), Matthieu Darras (Torino Film Lab), Raymond Phathanavirangoon (Hong Kong Film Festival), Mathias Noschis (Alphapanda, online marketing expert), Amra Bakšić Čamo (producer of Berlinale Silver Bear-winning film An Episode in the Life of an Iron Picker), Jakub Duszyński (Gutek Film), Guillaume de Seille (Arizona Films), Vincent Lucassen (Under the Milky Way), Julien Ezanno (CNC), Kamil Przełęcki (Agora), Iza Łopuch (HBO Poland) and Dominga Sotomayor (director of Tiger Award winner From Thursday till Sunday).
Out of the 27 participants, 18 came from Poland. Among them were Anna Wieczur-Bluszcz, director of Being Deyna, actor and director Krzysztof Skonieczny (Hardkor Disko), animator
Bartek Kulas (Millhaven) and director Aleksandra Terpińska (All Saints’ Day). Partner festivals from Transilvania, Locarno, Lisbon, Cottbus and Paris (Cinesonne) selected further 9 participants from their countries, i.e. directors Kevin Merz (Terra) and Sylvain Coisne (Hier, j’etais deux) and composer Johannes Birlinger (Berlin-Paris).
The New Horizons Studio was co-organized with Media Desk Polska and the London Film Academy, Polish Chamber of Film Producers was the event’s partner. The New Horizons Studio was also kindly supported by T-Mobile.
