20. New Horizons IFF was postponed and will be held on 5-15 November 2020 together with 11. American Film Festival, but film industry representatives will meet online in July at Polish Days, the New Horizons Studio+ and, for the first time, as part of the prestigious First Cut Lab.
Polish Days, the festival's most important industry event, which aims to show Polish film projects in progress to the international film industry, will take place on July 27-29. Last year's edition featured, among others, the Oscar-nominated "Corpus Christi" by Jan Komasa, Daria Woszek's "Marygoround," which screened at SXSW, and Mariko Saga's "The Taste of Pho" shown in San Sebastián. The events will use the latest tech platforms featured at this year's leading industry events and world festivals, including the Marché du Film in Cannes. The virtual formula will allow for the participation of even more international guests and interest from international programmers, sales agents and distributors has been extremely high. The event is co-organized by the Polish Film Institute.
During 11. edition of New Horizons Studio+ directors and producers will work under the guidance of a group of experts (international sales agents, lecturers of Europe’s leading training programs) on the promotion and communication of their film projects and the art of pitching. Workshops and lectures will be held online on July 24-27. Event’s partners are EAVE and the London Film Academy, and Creative Europe Desk Poland is a co-organizer of the workshop.
For the first time as part of the New Horizons International Film Festival, filmmakers in the editing phase can take part in the First Cut Lab program, working on their project with the best experts from the world film industry as part of unique, extremely intense workshops.
