Awarded for directing at Sundance, Marija Kavtaradze's debut is a sensual and provocative love story unlike any seen before on screen. It has been a while since we witnessed a duo with such sparks between them. Elena (Greta Grinevičiūtė) is a dancer, while Dovydas (Kęstutis Cicėnas) is a sign language interpreter. Both express themselves through their bodies, seeking the best way to convey the most subtle meanings and deepest emotions through dance and hand movements. They seem destined for each other, but Slow, instead of a happy ending, chooses the It's complicated status. Elena loves sex, while Dovydas could do without it. With the best intentions, they explore whether it is possible to love without desire. Kavtaradze's film fearlessly tackles the theme of new relationship models, and the passionate and intense Slow showcases both directorial prowess and remarkable on-screen chemistry. We guarantee that no one in cinema has ever hung laundry in a more seductive manner.
