The Ape Star

Smart, sensitive Jonna dreams of a real family. Although the children's home is a friendly and safe place, the girl is ready for a change. When the only adult interested in adoption turns out to be a powerful gorilla, Jonna has mixed feelings. Badly dressed, silent and living in a... junkyard. Can it get any worse? But the eight-year-old quickly learns that appearances can be deceiving; driving a rickety Volvo can be a lot of fun, and her new caretaker's thick coat hides a big heart and true motherly love. The protagonists form a harmonious duo and together they face the intrigues of a local investor. The previously withdrawn Jonna discovers her strength – after all, she is the daughter of a gorilla! The animation is an adaptation of the book by Frida Nilsson, the acclaimed Swedish children's author.
