Michaela Grill’s experimental film moves, according to one critic, “along unstable boundaries.” Into the Great White Open is similar to her film The Experimental Forest, which was screened at the 13th T-Mobile New Horizons Festival, in which she tried out different forms of imaging. Here, she undertakes similar experiments, but this time her protagonists are clouds and land covered with snow.
Michaela Grill was born in 1971 in Austria. She studied in Vienna, Glasgow, and London and since 1999 has been producing films, video projects, and live sound and visual installations. She lives and works in Vienna.
