Watching the latest production by John Skoog—who is no stranger to New Horizons audiences—without the key narrows one’s perception of Shadowland to a collection of landscape views whose beauty relies on the passage of time. His choice of spaces to film was not at all determined by their attractiveness but rather by the role they once played in classic Hollywood films.
Born in 1985, in Kvidinge, Sweden, started making experimental video as a teenager. His photography and film installations have been shown at museum and film festivals around the world. In 2013 he was, as the youngest person ever, awarded the prestigious Ars-Viva Kunstpreis.
