Mother Earth

Piotr Złotorowicz
Matka Ziemia
Poland 2014 / 30’

Maciek is not yet a man, but is no longer a boy. His family has passed on the butchery trade for generations, but he cannot bring himself to inflict pain on animals. Torn between the desire to live up to his father’s expectations and his own sensitivity, he turns his care-giving attention to an unkempt orchard – the last memento of his mother. A psychodrama plays out between the family and nature.
