Detour de Force

Rebecca Baron
USA, Austria 2014 / 29’
documentary

The latest documentary by this American artist is made up entirely of archival images that present the world as seen by photographer Teda Serios, a charismatic bellhop from Chicago who, in the mid-1960s, produced hundreds of original Polaroid photographs. The documentary includes recordings of sessions between Serios and his psychiatrist, Dr. Jule Eisenbud. The director is more interested in the ethnographic dimension rather than the biographic.
