Gonda is a cinematic response to Ayn Rand's play Ideal. The director takes a critical look at revolutionary modernism, whose influence is visible in society today. Her performative experiment grabs the attention with a polyphony of overlapping and interspersed pictures and sounds.
Ursula Mayer was born in Austria and is currently living and working in London. From 1990–1996 she studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. She has presented her work at individual and joint exhibitions. Her projects have been on show at festivals in Rotterdam, Oberhausen, Locarno and Tokyo.
