Experimental, visually stunning, and unique – immersive projects return to the mBank New Horizons IFF. This year's program features two Dutch films awarded at last year's Venice Immersive section, with support from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Warsaw.

Winner of the Grand Prix at the Venice Festival in the Venice Immersive section, this meditative VR opera explores our ambiguous relationship with the nature of reality. How do we relate to the world of temporal things? Are we part of it or mere outside observers? And what about the body – is it something we are or something we own? In Songs for the Passerby, we follow our 3D mirror image and traverse a musical landscape of dreams, allowing momentary transcendence of reality. Like a puppeteer guiding your own body, we enter a poetic space where the question arises: is it I who pass the moments, or is it rather the moments that pass me?

Practical information:

  • To join the experience, you'll need to wear VR goggles and headphones. Thanks to the VR goggles, you will have a chance to immerse yourself in a three-dimensional interactive experience.
  • You can wear the VR goggles over your glasses, but please be careful when adjusting the device. The goggles we use fit medium-sized corrective glasses. We recommend the use of contact lenses.
  • The Songs for a Passerby experience is available in the original language version with English subtitles.
  • The VR Stage is accessible for people with mobility challenges.
  • Our qualified team will be available on-site at all times to answer your every question.
