Lesbian mumblecore from Romania. Two girls start chatting online, at first about a different girl who was once close to both of them. They decide to meet. Romance is in the air. Conversations lead to coffee, coffee to wine, wine to sex. Getting closer, however, comes with a growing disparity in their expectations: one of them is looking for someone to join her in a safe space, while the other has no fear about confronting life and is ready to jump in the deep end. Several Conversations About a Very Tall Girl is an intimate, independent film with a cast of four actresses: in addition to nuances of the characters' erotic and emotional lives, it also reveals prejudices against LGBT people in Romania, which the characters have also internalized. This debut film by director Bogdan Theodor Olteanu (he is also the screenwriter and producer) is also the first film for the actresses, the cinematographer, the sound designer and the set designer. As a result, it is somewhat unpolished, which, however, creates the feeling that you are watching a sincere and unforced work.
