Barbara is a translator and lives subsumed in her thoughts and the routine of daily chores. Her only companions are her daughter and insubordinate dog. One day, her doorbell rings to reveal her husband. What seems like a mundane homecoming becomes a shock to her and her daughter. Both attempt to navigate the new situation in a short film about the necessity of rituals of transformation.
Director and screenwriter Olga Kałagate was born in 1987, and graduated from the Krzysztof Kieślowski Faculty of Radio and Television University of Silesia in Katowice; she previously studied art history. She has authored scripts for film shorts, documentaries and animated films. Olga’s films have screened at dozens of festivals in Poland and abroad. She is fascinated by a world where reality mixes with fantasy.
