A group of prison inmates plays several improvised scenes based on their own experiences, which are supposed to prepare them for the temptations of life on the outside. They take on various, even the most abstract, roles, but the weaknesses of the inmates, irrespective of their age, gender and rap sheets, are surprisingly similar. This is an attempt to understand the causes of why so many incarcerated people share the same fate.

He grew up in East Berlin. He graduated from Edinburgh College of Art and Lodz Film School with an MA in Film Directing. His short documentary Written in Ink has been shown at more than 100 international film festivals including SXSW and Hot Docs. In 2013 Martin completed his fiction short film Arena, which premiered at the 58th Cork Film Festival where it won the Grand Prix International. He is guided by his deep interest in social outsiders and cross-cultural tensions.
