The film presents the famous Polish conductor, Witold Rowicki (1914-1989), who established two of the best Polished orchestras after the war, raising international interest in Polish modern music. He also introduced the National Philharmonic Orchestra to international concert tours. This is a subjective portrait of a man. By using in the film some 8-mm tape footage shot by Rowicki himself during his numerous tours abroad, the director intends to somehow allow Rowicki to make a film about himself.
