Social inequality, feelings of injustice, and the constant need to take on the challenges of the modern world are a source of stress and depression in a lot of people. It should come as no surprise that some people end up exploding. This is precisely what this film is about, showing how thin the line is that separates civilized rebellion from madness. Wild Tales is a story about how people explode in moments of weakness, about nervous breakdowns, moments of crisis, and revenge. In the event of a plane crash, passengers discover that it was no accident that they were on board. An ordinary trip by car turns into a macabre chase. The unexpected return of one’s torturers from the past provides an opportunity to compensate for the harm done. A child’s tragic mistake forces his parents to protect him from punishment. Powerlessness in the face of bureaucratic absurdity results in a wild reaction. A bride betrayed at her wedding decides to take revenge on the groom. Wild Tales is a daring comedy with a large dose of black humor and social reflection.
