Siegfried A. Fruhauf is well-known for his interest in the concept of the structural film, which he practised at the side of Peter Tscherkassky. With his film, he aims to getting us to reflect on the nature and specifics of watching as well as on the media which perpetuate or generate the image itself (in his projects, the artist equally applies the classic methods of representation, as well as using digital media). The screening of Exterior Extended at this year’s New Horizons is the international premiere of this work.
Siegfried A. Fruhauf was born in 1976 in Austria and studied under Peter Tscherkassky. He studied Visual Art at the University of Artistic and Industrial Design in Linz, where, for the first time, he came across cinematic avant-garde. Since 2009, he has been a lecturer at that same university. He is also a member of Sixpackfilm. The projects he has produced have screened at various festivals, including Cannes, Venice and Sundance.
