Nikki Schuster made Parasite from waste, breathing new life into insect wings, bones, hair, and plant fragments found in Argentine to create the characters in this animated short. Her film is a prime example of artistic recycling, which adds an additional, off-screen layer of meaning to ponder.
Nikki Schuster was born in 1974 in Austria and lives in Berlin. In addition to making animated films, she also works as a sound editor. Her films screen at festivals and show galleries throughout the world. She also works in television and theatre, and runs animated film workshops.
