In an old house filled with memories, an elderly man endeavours to care for his grandson and himself. He has been diagnosed with an untreatable lung disease, but given only a balloon and pain medication as therapy, he must deal with daily life as the little boy demands attention, and his mother attempts to clean house in this moving attempt to capture the process of parting that creeps in to the daily life of a Cuban family.

Born in 1984 in Krakow. A graduate of Cultural Studies at Jagiellonian University and Documentary Directing at Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión de San Antonio de los Baños. Before starting film studies, Maciuszek worked in NGOs and cultural institutes in Poland, Spain and Mexico, where she dealt with human rights and multiculturalism. She has several short documentaries under her belt. Previous Scenes is her graduation thesis.
