Mother Gives Birth to Her Husband’s Father

Mikhail Maximov
Mat’ rozhdayet ottsa muzha
Russia 2012 / 13’

A short film, experimental in form, and of philosophical significance. A change in our civilization gets visited upon the Earth, which results in the circle of life being disturbed. In the face of the collapse of the order, which has existed up to now, people lose their points of reference. This change makes them suspicious and question everything. They suddenly begin seeking meaning in every act, to ask why the world is the way it is and whether it be different. The behaviour of humanity itself is a particular problem, especially since fathers and grandfathers have suddenly lost authority and influence on the bringing up of future generations. How, in this new reality, can we set out priorities for our children in life?
