The main character of this film discovers that the friend he was supposed to meet in India, to share the solar eclipse, has died under vague circumstances while waiting for him in a mountain village. He sets out to find his friend’s body and give it a dignified burial. A silent journey is also a mental expedition to the source of sadness. A kaleidoscope of beautiful, although prosaic images of the Hindu province seems to be an attempt at conceptual representation of the slow process of searching for meaning in the chaotic rhythm of everyday life, syncopated by an overwhelming feeling of loss. The eclipse becomes a cosmic ritual of transgression, a recalibration of the universe, from which one element disappears to make room for another.
