Four percussions, two saxophones, two trombones, and one trumpet - this band from the US is a real orchestra. Their music is a mighty dose of energy, which leaves nobody indifferent. This crew from Wisconsin has played with many artists, including Jake Willys, a Frank Zappa collaborator. YOUNGBLOOD BRASS BAND continues to deconstruct music conventions. Extraordinarily energetic, progressive, acoustic and innovative, they comprise everything that is needed to create a unique sound. The members of this 9-person group come from different regions of the USA and for the last 5 years they have given concerts not only in the States, but in more than ten countries in Europe as well. YOUNGBLOOD BRASS BAND has performed at the most prestigious of festivals like: Roskilde, Lowlands, Pukkelpop, Glastonbury, and Womad. Their unrepeatable performances has made them stars and one has to see them live. Their discography started with the album Unlearn of 2000, played with guest stars: rapper Talib Kweli, Mike Ladd, DJ Skooly and a vocalist who used to work with Franki Zappa, Ike Willis. Their debut soon drew the audience's attentions and their subsequent albums - Center:Level:Roa of 2003 and Is That a Riot? of 2006 - were a confirmation of the band’s international position. YoungBlood Brass Band established the Layered Arts Collective - their own recording company, recording studio and publishing house, specialising in music literature and a forum for sharing the opinions of artists, students and animators of culture who contribute to development of local communities through art and education. Their innovative attitude to music, bold experiments and the impulsiveness of their performances make them the artists of a new generation, initiators of a new form of music.
