Reed, a staid man with a chubby babyface and eyes like two muddy holes, checks into a hotel where he has very serious intentions: he is planning to murder a prostitute. His suitcase contains a gag from a sex shop, a rope and an ice pick-the tools to make his sweetest dreams a reality. He planned everything perfectly, but he didn't expect the girl he ordered to be even more of a nut than he is. Countless bizarre and extreme experiences await these two. Piercing is not so much a horror as it is a surreal black comedy in which the rules of horror films are distorted by an element of madness. The plot of the film is taken from a novel by Ryû Murakami, the same author whose work provided the basis for Takashi Miike's cult classic Audition.
