What links a melancholic loner, two men who have been beaten-up, and a pair of accidental travellers? At first glance, nothing. Each of them comes from a distinct, separate environment, each is taking a path in life that they themselves have chosen, and each interacts indifferently with their surroundings. A second glance, unfortunately, confirms this group’s incompatibility. Apart from the fact that these people are living in the same country, they have nothing in common. They talk about different things, they experience different problems, they have different fears. However, it is they who are picked out from the crowd by a secret observer, who, throughout the whole film, observes and comments on the daily life of these people with a mixture of interest, disbelief and a lack of understanding. Who is he and why is he trying to penetrate the secrets of humanity using these unfortunately chosen individuals?
