Anticipation, emptiness, and the loss of someone close. The lonely protagonist of Jagoda Szelc’s film inhabits an enormous house, which she keeps spotlessly clean in an endless succession of obsessive, ritualistic chores. But we discover that a deeper meaning lies hidden beneath the pattern… Aposiopesis (in classical greek becoming silent) signifies an unexpected stop in a narrative. In music, it takes the form of a long pause that often underlines parting, longing, and even death.
She is a graduate of the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław and holds a grant from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She is currently studying film direction at the Polish National Film, Television and Theatre School in Łódź.
