Imagine Søren Kierkegaard and Dorota Masłowska getting drunk and singing karaoke at a local dive bar. Can you? Then Leben is for you. Ania Płonka's film is an engaging story about Olga, a novice student who has mastered the art of grin-and-bear-it. With her innate grace and masterful self-irony, Olga tries to suppress her sense of loneliness and uprootedness. Deep down, however, she knows it's a dead end. An opportunity to solve her problems arises in the least expected circumstances.
Ania Płonka is a visual artist and film director, a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and the Warsaw Film School.
