Water Lilies in Bloom

Emil Stang Lund
Vannliljer i blomst
Norway 2010 / 15’

Can Newton’s laws of motion be disproved? Labanosov, a synchronised swimming coach, believes they can. Admittedly, the first attempt to prove that ended in failure but another chance appears. For the obese candidates who are usually held in contempt, in turn, it is an opportunity to experience something unusual as well as get to know what they are worth.

What recurs in this film is a typical Norwegian film theme, a theme of revolt against fixed order, yearning for breaking the rules, acting against the trends and universally accepted models.
