Lightkeeping

Elias Heuninck
Belgium 2015 / 12’
experimental

Lightkeeping was made with a digital camera. The filmmaker was not interested in the camera’s ability to capture a realistic reflection of the landscape in front of the lens, but rather in the possibility of modifying the negatives of images captured earlier. Fragments of photographs that change right in front of our eyes are accompanied by excerpts from letters written by one of the pioneers of black-and-white photography, William Fox Talbot.
