Ture the Dice

Ture Tärning
Sweden 2015 / 9’

Have you ever wondered what the childhood of dice must be like? Where do they get their dots, what sort of schools do they attend, do they like to dance? And have you ever thought about whether the results of a roll of the dice are really nothing more than chance? A die by the name of Ture explains the truth. And also why it is worth being friends with ladybugs. With hints of absurd humor, this film combines traditional pictures with computer-generated animation.

Anatole’s little saucepan

Mały rondelek Anatola
France 2014 / 6’

Anatole always takes a little saucepan with him wherever he goes. Although it often makes his life harder, he cannot be without it. He has many talents, and he is very sensitive. But the only thing that people see is the saucepan, which makes Anatole seem rather strange. However, he meets someone one day who allows him to look at this burden differently. A tasteful puppet animation about being different and about liberation through art.

Counting Sheep

Compte les moutons
France, Belgium 2015 / 7’

A young boy is unable to fall asleep. His tired father calls out from the living room: "Try counting sheep!" A little while later, and the boy’s room is filled with dozens of sheep. His father tells him: "Call a wolf!" Sated, the wolf falls asleep on the boy’s bed. His father then tells him: "Call some hunters!" In the end, however, you sometimes have to take matters into your own hands. Both children and parents will find it easy to identify with this classic drawn animation—after all, who has not had an evening adventure when it comes to bedtime?

The Law of the Jungle

La loi du plus fort
France, Belgium 2015 / 6’

The jungle. A little monkey is trying to tear a banana—the largest one in the whole bunch—off a tree. As soon as it manages, a slightly bigger monkey suddenly appears, and then a huge gorilla, who also has its eye on the prize. The wise little monkey tries to satisfy everyone by weighing and sharing out the fruit. Who will get biggest piece? This extremely colorful, graphic animation shows that, sometimes, cleverness is the greatest strength.

Frenemy

Przyjacielski wróg
Germany 2014 / 6’

A cat and a dog, constant enemies keeping an eye on one another, at least until a storm hits one day, and a stroke of lightning alters their voices in some mysterious way. Despite every effort, nothing can be done about it. And this provides food for thought. From that moment on, nasty jokes turn into good-natured pranks, and the cat and dog become friends. A humorous, classic animation in which adults can also find familiar themes.
