Silent Night

This is not the first play sisters Monika Muskała (translator) and Gabriela Muskała (actress) have written under the pseudonym Amanita Muskaria. Like their previous texts for theatre, it is about an extended Polish family, centred around the mother, and the ways in which it deals with memory and remembrance. The action takes place on Christmas Eve and the day before. Though the characters are all looking forward to the holidays, they know that their family reunion will once again bring up unwanted, often painful memories of the family's hometown and the tragedy suffered years ago at the hands of the Ukrainians.
