Natalie Kalmus, the wife of the founder of Technicolor, worked on the colors in numerous films, including Gone With the Wind and The Wizard of Oz. The main protagonist in Aura Satz’s experimental film is, indeed, color itself. However, it is difficult to resist the temptation that Doorway for Natalie Kalmus is a tribute to the title character.
