Debate of the Shortlist section and Pełna Sala portal: Who Needs Shorts?

Debata sekcji Shortlista i portalu Pełna Sala: Komu potrzebne są shorty?
Boat Trip and Screening on the Oder River with Visa and mBank Ettore Scola’s "Le Bal" with Live Music in the Garden of the Wrocław Pantomima Theatre

Who needs shorts? The question, although provocative, seems justified, as different perceptions of short films keep clashing in the industry. Some see them as autonomic works of art, others merely as shop windows which make it possible for the artists to demonstrate their skills and make it easier for them to get funds for their feature-length debut. Can these two contradictory concepts be reconciled? What needs to be done for shorts to enjoy more interest from the audience, critics, producers, representatives of networks and streaming platforms?
