Kids Film: Short Stories from the Neighbourhood 6+

People start coming to the forest inhabited by the hedgehogs and their friends, and the forest replaces the city they built. The animals can't find a place for themselves in this new environment. To get rid of these unwanted tenants, they decide to follow the rules that govern the world of people and the iron laws of economics. Will they succeed?

Once, the four Shammies—Sockie, Mitten, Pillow and Hankie—watch as Mr. Cat cleans himself. After a hard day, they also decide to take a bath. In the bathtub, however, danger lurks in the form of the Water Monster.

The Shammies find a strange red object. They try to figure out what it is and what it's for. It turns out to be a button from Mitten's pants. But this sort of ordinary solution doesn’t satisfy them. The Shammies use their imagination to come up with their own answer.

Sockie, Mitten, Pillow and Hankie are trying to play on a swing, but it turns out that the biggest one among them, Pillow, weighs more than all the others combined. What should they do? Mr. Cat comes to help.

A little bird called Pippo gets separated from the flock he was flying south with and lands in the fireplace of a little girl named Lotte, who decides to help Pippo get back to his loved ones. It just so happens that Lotte's dad, an inventor named Oskar, has just finished building a flying machine. A friend of Oskar’s, the experienced traveler Klaus the dog, also decides to tag along on their journey. Two five-minute episodes from the 13-part Estonian animated series.

Miriam’s friend Hen loves to soar through the sky on a kite. But fun and games always have to come to an end, especially when your mother is calling you home. Hen finds this hard to accept and persuades Miriam's younger brother to play with her. When the kite flies away with him, Miriam and Hen come to the rescue!

Miriam goes to the lake with her family. After a long and eventful day, everyone falls asleep in a tent, but Miriam's friend Hen can't fall asleep. She goes out for a walk, and in the middle of the night she hears hooting and sees eyes glowing in the dark. She grabs her camera to prove to everyone that monsters do exist.

A little kitten falls asleep. What is it dreaming about? In its dream, stars appear on the walls, and the floor turns into an ocean that ordinary objects float on. There are four unusual sailors on the deck of a little shoe carried by the waves. The film's dreamy atmosphere is created by childlike drawings woven into an image of the sleeping cat. The animation is based on the poem “The Little Boat” by Daniil Kharms.
