The 2017 festival is very excited to announce its review of New Israeli Cinema. The program features about 14 films from 2014-2017 - features and documentaries, as well as works at the intersection of film and the visual arts. Israel is currently producing some of the most interesting films in the world, with a film scene that is developing dynamically, surprising for the freshness of its scripts, while being deeply engaged and constantly confronting its surrounding reality. Israeli cinema, much like the society from which comes, is extremely diverse and in the process of seeking new identities. Recently, there have been mentions of the Israeli New Wave taking world festivals by storm. At the 2017 festival edition we will delve in deep to see what makes it tick. Confirmed titles include a film that generated extensive buzz at Locarno, People That Are Not Me (Anashim Shehem Lo Ani) by a young director from Tel Aviv, Hadas Ben Aroya.
