Masterclass with the creators of "The Girl with the Needle"

This unique event features a meeting with the producer and director of The Girl with the Needle, who met as 20-year-olds at the Film School in Lodz in 2005, where they worked on short films together. They have navigated international film circuits, consistently forging their cinematic path, culminating in the premiere of their latest film in the main competition at the Cannes Film Festival this year. Magnus von Horn, the director, is a Swedish native who has lived in Poland for nearly 20 years. Mariusz Włodarski, the producer, founded his production company after graduating in 2010. He previously gained experience in international co-productions at the legendary Opus Film, known for producing the Oscar-winning Ida. What is the phenomenon of this collaboration and friendship? Do Swedish-Polish cultural differences pose any challenges? How do Magnus and Mariusz recall their student days and the beginnings of their cooperation? To what extent is it possible to plan a joint career path? And finally, how can filmmakers achieve the dream of "walking the red carpet at Cannes"? On these and other topics, Marta Bałaga will talk with the filmmakers.

The meeting will be held on Sunday, July 21, from 2:00 - 3:00 pm in the America conference room of the Wyndham Wroclaw Old Town Hotel (67 Świętego Mikołaja Street).

The talk will be conducted in English and is open to the public, but registration is required.
