New Horizons Studio+ awarded projects Polish Days 2019 Awards

Polish Days – the most important industry event of New Horizons IFF, co-organized by the Polish Film Institute and The Ministry of Culture and National Heritage has just ended.

Over 250 guests from Poland and abroad watched, at special closed screenings, the latest Polish projects in all stages of production, including completed films and fragments of films in postproduction as well as took part in presentations of projects in development. The best projects were awarded.

Inaugural Screen International Award, which includes the coverage of the life-cycle of the winning project in the Works-in-Progress showcase, went to Broad Peak directed by Leszek Dawid (production: East Studio). ScreenInternational will follow the winning film throughout its production and release phases.

Polish Film Institute scholarship worth 30.000 PLN for the producer of the best project in development was awarded to Natalia Grzegorzek from Koskino for Skull Echo directed by Julia Marcell. The award founded by Polish Film Institute covers the cost of the participation in the EAVE Producers Workshop 2020.

Delicate Balance of Terror directed by Jagoda Szelc (production: NUR) won ColorOffOn Film Postproduction Award, which is covering 50% of postproduction costs (worth up to 30.000 PLN, excluding VFX costs).

Polish Days, which took place July 30 - August 1 during the 19th New Horizons International Film Festival (July 25 - August 4, 2019), is co-organized by the Polish Film Institute and The Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. Event partners include EAVE, the Screen International, Coloroffon, the Wrocław Film Commission, the Mazovia Warsaw Film Commission, the Łódź Film Commission, the Krakow Film Commission, the Podkarpackie Film Commission, Silesia Film Commission, Warmia – Masuria Film Fund, DI Factory, British Council and Adam Mickiewicz Institute.

Media partners include Film Pro, Film New Europe and Film & TV Kamera.
