Don’t let the idyllic village fool you. Several demons live behind the façade of harmony and peace, hidden in people’s souls. A thick web of repressed desires entwines others, constricting around their necks. Father Adam knows this too well, or at least feels it. He senses their fears, dreams and sufferings. Ewa cannot come to an understanding with her husband, as all she can think of is her affair. In turn, her husband is becoming even more indifferent to her. A group of neglected boys runs wild in a neighbourhood where there seems to be no chance of a better life. Adam organises a bonfire for the local youth, but whilst trying to heal the souls of others, he becomes convinced of how much he himself needs relief. Especially when Łukasz appears – a silent, withdrawn boy who keeps far away from the priest’s stares. It’s hard to define precisely what grows between them, but one thing is sure: this time, the heart will get no relief, not even from a bottle of whiskey. Suddenly the loneliness becomes more dominating than ever before. Thoughts whirl, but nowhere is the answer to a desperately asked question to be found. Everything begins to shake – around, and inside, Adam.
