Every year, the Marché du Film offers film festivals (or markets) the exclusive opportunity to curate and host their own exclusive showcase in Cannes. This lineup features films in various stages of post-production, teeming with diversity, new cinematic expressions and cultural nuances from different regions worldwide.

This dynamic program gives international talents a stage to pitch their creative visions and connect their projects with potential sales agents, distributors, and festival programmers. It also serves as a promotional platform for festivals and markets to highlight their individual events and year-round activities.

Above all, Goes to Cannes offers Marché participants a unique and easily accessible environment to engage with different film festivals and markets from around the world and discover new international talents, all within the vibrant setting of Cannes!

Golden Horse Film Festival | Taiwan

Started in 1962, the Golden Horse Festival in Taiwan, featuring the Golden Horse Awards, honors excellence in Sinophone cinema. Referred to as ‘The Oscars of Asia’ by the BBC, the Golden Horse Film Festival celebrates filmmakers such as Hou Hsiao-hsien, Edward Yang, Ang Lee, and Tsai Ming-liang. The festival showcases world cinema, facilitates film project promotion, connecting filmmakers with investors, and the film academy provides a platform for new talents to share their visions with industry professionals.

Adelaide Film Festival | Australia

The Adelaide Film Festival (AFF) stands as South Australia’s foremost screen event and ranks among Australia’s top film festivals. Held annually in October, it serves as a vibrant celebration of bold cinema, fostering a convergence of filmmakers and audiences. In addition to the festival itself, AFF operates an Investment Fund, facilitating the launch of careers and the showcasing of local narratives on the global stage.

Solothurn Film Festival | Switzerland

The Solothurn Film Festival stands as the second oldest film festival in Switzerland, set to celebrate its 60th edition in 2025. Drawing over 65,000 admissions, this event serves as a pivotal showcase of Swiss cinema, asserting its position as one of the country’s most influential cultural gatherings. Presenting the latest in Swiss filmmaking, the festival is complemented by meticulously curated supporting programs. Serving as an ideal rendezvous point for an international audience of industry professionals, the Solothurn Film Festival provides a platform to explore the diverse landscape of Swiss filmmaking.

Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival | Estonia

Started in 1997, the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, along with its two sub-festivals, Just Film and PÖFF Shorts, has grown into one of the biggest film festivals in Northern Europe and one of the busiest regional industry platforms. The 28th edition will take place from the 8th until the 24th of November, while the festival’s industry platform Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event will run from the 18th until the 22nd of November.

Queer Screen — Mardi Gras Film Festival | Australia

Queer Screen, based in Sydney, Australia, stands as the nation’s foremost LGBTIQ+ cultural organization. Since 1993, they have been organizing Australia’s premier LGBTIQ+ film festival, Queer Screen Mardi Gras Film Festival, held annually in February/March. In addition to this flagship event, they also host a second festival, Queer Screen Film Fest, and provide completion funding along with hosting a pitching competition.

Hong Kong — Asia Film Financing Forum

The HKIFF Industry provides filmmakers with comprehensive services and global exposure. It includes support for project development through initiatives like the Film Lab, assistance in production and post-production via HAF (Hong Kong – Asia Film Financing Forum), showcasing works-in-progress at international platforms such as HAF Goes to Cannes, and planning the career trajectory of completed films through the HKIFF Collection. Additionally, HKIFF Industry engages in co-production ventures with third parties.

Ventana Sur | Argentina

Ventana Sur stands as the premier audiovisual market in Latin America, attracting distributors and buyers from across the globe. It serves as a vital hub connecting various stakeholders in the industry, facilitating international co-productions, financing, and distribution of content from Latin America. The event features market screenings, pitching sessions, business rounds, workshops, and discussions on industry trends and future prospects.

Introducing the Goes to Cannes Award 

This year’s edition will feature the inaugural Goes to Cannes Award, which will be graciously presented and offered by Sideral Cinema.

This Spanish film studio, specializing in the sales and distribution of international independent films, will offer one lucky project an MG (minimum guarantee) of €10,000. The award recipient will be revealed during the Goes to Cannes Lunch, held on Monday, 20 May, amidst the partnering festivals and selection participants.
