Death to Five
The last song recorded before Grzegorz Ciechowski’s death in December 2001, released on a CD entitled The Last Album (Ostatnia płyta). Originally, the video it inspired was to be part of a larger whole, a 30-minute animated film by Wilczyński and Ciechowski. The latter artist’s death stopped the production, leaving only this moving video.
Mariusz Wilczyński
Born in 1964 in Łódź, Polish director, screenwriter, animator Mariusz Wilczyński was the subject of a New Horizons retrospective in 2009. Wilczyński’s works have been shown at, among others, New York’s MoMA, the Brazilian National Museum, the Tokyo International Forum and the London National Gallery. He has designed music videos, "videotomes," visualizations for symphonic concerts, and the visuals of TVP Kultura television station. His feature debut Kill It and Leave This Town premiered at Berlinale.
