We need to talk about black

Musimy porozmawiać o czerni
lecture - performance

We need to talk about black is a live lecture-performance by Kobas Laksa that uses quotes from the history of film theory, a handbook about breaking the rules of cinematic composition and the Apocalypse of St. John.

The Happy End series consists mainly of black-and-white films which, in their surreal and dynamic structure, recall film's early days, formal experiments or film noir. These works, stripped of narrative schematics and difficult to judge, disclose hidden meanings. In the age of silent cinema, live music served to heighten the emotions and experience imparted by images on the screen. During the lecture-presentation by Kobas Laksa, reading of the fragments and analysis of the visual aspects of a film image will serve to provide a deeper look into the apocalyptic theme.

This lecture is especially recommended to those willing to look at film as a structure that is subject to constant changes and infinite redefinition.
