She graduated from the Directing Faculty of the Łódź National Film, TV and Theatre School in 1998. Winner of awards at prestigious international festivals for features: Happy Man (Szczęśliwy człowiek - 2000), Stranger (Ono - 2004), 33 Scenes from Life (33 sceny z życia - 2008) and documentaries: Siedem lekcji miłości (1999) and Nothing to Be Scared of (A czego tu się bać? - 2006).

The film by Mariusz Grzegorzek (constructed as an essay) is a reflection on human suffering. The black-and-white cinematography and the poetics of a nightmare (with documentary footage of a plane crash and a burning man) make up an original and suggestive story about the madness of a young woman.

Born in 1962. Film and theatre director, screenwriter, graphic artist. Graduate of the Łódź film school (1988). In 1989 he became a lecturer and in 2006 a professor in film art. He makes original films with his own distinctive “handwriting”. Among them, are: Rozmowa z człowiekiem z szafy (1993), awarded at festivals in Poland and abroad; Królowa aniołów (1999) and I Am Yours (Jestem twój - 2009). He also directs at theatres in Warsaw and Łódź.

His two first features: I'm Looking at You, Mary (Patrzę na ciebie, Marysiu - 1999) and Changes (Przemiany - 2003) made him famous, won multiple awards and were acclaimed by audiences. The director creates excellent modern TV theatre performance. The latest film directed by Barczyk is Unmoved Mover (Nieruchomy poruszyciel - 2008).
Awarded for artistic features at the IFF in Poitiers, a feature etude based on a short story by Henryk Grynberg Żydowska wojna. A story about a group of Jews, hiding in spring 1943 in a dug-out in woods in an area occupied by Germans.

In ten years, he has made excellent and award-winning documentaries, including: Rozwój (2001), Kurc (2005) and Radegast (2008). In 2009 he won multiple prizes for his debut Reverse (Rewers) – a love story set in the 1950s. Currently he is preparing another feature, based on a novel by Andrzej Bart – Fabryka muchołapek.
