Billboards monopolize space in cities. Their very ubiquity invites indifference to their content regardless of whether they include information about a prestigious cultural event or a supermarket ad. In Nina Könnemann’s film, the outdoors is not for transmitting information but is rather a place where passers-by relieve themsleves and for whom the information on billboards is not at all relevant.
Born in Bonn in 1971. Studied Fine Arts and Film in Hamburg. Her artistic accomplishments have been exhibited all over the world, and they can be seen in Toronto Vienna, Paris, and New York.
