In his latest short film, Siegfried A. Fruhauf—a student of Peter Tscherkassky’s who is well known to New Horizons audiences—develops his interest in the concept of structural film. As in Exterior Extended, which was screened at the 13th edition of the T-Mobile New Horizons International Film Festival, his investigations focus on the nature of images, which, in his case, provide a framework for experiments with rhythm and color.
Siegfried A. Fruhauf was born in 1976 in Austria and studied under Peter Tscherkassky. He studied Visual Art at the University of Artistic and Industrial Design in Linz, where, for the first time, he came across cinematic avant-garde. Since 2009, he has been a lecturer at that same university. He is also a member of Sixpackfilm. The projects he has produced have screened at various festivals, including Cannes, Venice and Sundance.
