Live to Live

Laida Lertxundi
Vivir Para Vivir
USA, Spain 2015 / 10’
experimental

Live to Live is an example of avant-garde feminist cinema with an abstract visual composition. The human body, which is the subject of ideological discourse, is present in this experimental film by Spanish artist Laida Lertxundi only in the soundtrack, in which one can hear the beating of a heart and an orgasmic climax. The images presented of mountains, an EKG, and musicians playing have no common denominator; their significance is in their political overtones.
