Set 2: Ultima Vez on film by Wim Vandekeybus
Wim Vandekeybus - director, choreographer, actor and photographer. After working for two years with Jan Fabre, in 1986 he created his own working structure, Ultima Vez, a company of a dozen young artists and actors, and several artistic, technical and administrative collaborators. Wim Vandekeybus has created nearly twenty performances with changing international casts and has made nearly as many film and video productions. His basic principle is to return to real movement, which others later called dance.
From 1993 onwards film became a constant value in his work. Films show what the stage cannot, it introduces distant worlds onto the stage. Besides the short films and film and video fragments that are part of the performances, Vandekeybus has directed several video adaptations of his dance productions. By putting elements of his performances in other contexts and locations, Wim Vandekeybus gives them a totally new dynamic and rhythm. Vandekeybus is currently working on the scenario of his first feature film.

Film based on successful performance Blush, is a dazzling voyage swinging between the heavenly landscapes of Corsica and the slummiest depths of Brussels.
It is an exploration of the savage subconscious and instincts, of mythical forests, of imagination, where the body has reasons unknown to the mind. In dance sequences of attraction, confrontation and repulsion the performers take on animal metamorphoses.

Through flashbacks Here-After tells the story of an isolated community in which a power-mad tyrant commands an infanticide. The characters relive their tragedy in the here-after and try to find a way to bear their trauma and pain captured in the memory of their bodies. Here-After is the camera rework of the performance Puur (2005).
