Allegro ma non troppo Crock of Gold: A Few Rounds with Shane MacGowan

An animated short produced for the International Chopin Year. The soundtrack is Chopin pieces interpreted by Justyna Steczkowska, Michał Urbaniak and Tomasz Stańko. Wilczyński rejects years of obligatory exalted and pompous admiration that has prevented people approaching Chopin’s music in a new way.

Mariusz Wilczyński

Born in 1964 in Łódź, Polish director, screenwriter, animator Mariusz Wilczyński was the subject of a New Horizons retrospective in 2009. Wilczyński’s works have been shown at, among others, New York’s MoMA, the Brazilian National Museum, the Tokyo International Forum and the London National Gallery. He has designed music videos, "videotomes," visualizations for symphonic concerts, and the visuals of TVP Kultura television station. His feature debut Kill It and Leave This Town premiered at Berlinale.
