Born in Istanbul in 1982, Can Evrenol studied Film and Art History at the University of Kent. He has made several independent short horror films that have been screened at numerous genre film festivals. Baskin, his feature debut, was well received by critics and won several awards.

Born in Athens in 1979, Yannis Veslemes has directed several commercials and short films. He made his full-length feature debut with Norway, which was screened at the festival in Karlovy Vary. In addition to directing, he also composes music under the pseudonym Felizol.

Born in Mumbai in 1972, Ashim Ahluwalia is a director and screenwriter. He studied Film Production at Bard College in the United States. Working outside the Bollywood system, he has made both feature and documentary films.

Born in Austria in 1985, Severin Fiala has been making films since he was 11 years old. He studied Screenwriting at the Film Academy in Vienna. He made the documentary Kern together with Veronika Franz. They also co-directed the arthouse horror Goodnight Mommy, which was screened during the 15th edition of the New Horizons Festival.

Born in Vienna in 1965, Veronika Franz works as a journalist for the Kurier newspaper. She co-wrote the scripts for many of Ulrich Seidel's films, including all three parts of his Paradise trilogy. She directed the full-length films Kern and Goodnight Mommy together with Severin Fiala. Their next joint project is reported to be The Lodge.

Born in 1983, Katrin Gebbe is a director and screenwriter. She studied in the Netherlands and in Germany. Her short film Şoreş & Şîrîn was an award winner at the Chicago International Children's Film Festival. She made her full-length feature debut with Nothing Bad Can Happen, which was shown in the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Festival.

Calvin Reeder is a director, screenwriter and actor. He was born in Portland and grew up in Seattle. He is known for his surreal short films, even earning the nickname "Jodorowsky of the Pacific Northwest." He has also made several full-length features. He currently lives in Los Angeles.

Agnieszka Smoczyńska was born in Wrocław in 1978. She studied Film Production at the Faculty of Radio and Television at the University of Silesia and at the Wajda School. She first became known thanks to her short film Aria Diva, which won awards at festivals in Poland and abroad. She gained even greater renown with the release of her full-length features The Lure and Fugue.

Born in Reading in 1973, Peter Strickland has both Greek and British roots. He financed his debut film, Katalin Varga, with money he inherited from his uncle. He later directed Berberian Sound Studio and Duke of Burgundy. Prominent critic Peter Bradshaw called him the most important British filmmaker of his generation. New Horizons has been screening his films on an ongoing basis over the years.
