The Field Guide to Evil is an anthology made up of short horror films inspired by folk tales. We are transported into a world dominated by superstitions, a place where our wildest fantasies and darkest nightmares come true, as children with watermelon heads prowl the forests, and green-skinned, long-nosed goblins nest underground. Knowledge and power can be acquired by eating the hearts of three corpses, while giving in to carnal temptations inevitably leads to destruction. Filmmakers from various countries worked on the project, including Austria, Greece, India and also Poland, which is represented by Agnieszka Smoczyńska and screenwriter Robert Bolesto, who made the internationally renowned The Lure. Each segment has its own unique style: from arthouse minimalism and grotesque to a tribute to silent movies.
