Bold, provocative, and intriguing are three words that could describe this experimental film by Japanese filmmaker Makino Takashi. His visuals have a hypnotizing power. We follow emerging features, see flashes of light, and observe disruptions in order to perceive a unified image beneath it all. The soundtrack, which is equally important for Takashi, enhances audiences’ sensory experiencing during viewing.

Born in Japan in 1978. Lives and works in Tokyo. Studied music and light design with the Brothers Quay in London. His artistic works stress both visuals and sound. His latest film is a Japanese-Dutch co-production.
