Douwe Dijkstra made a short film that can be considered an intervention, a voice against the media’s domination in the modern world. Through his work, the filmmaker makes up a fictional war in an attempt to understand the types of experiences that could accompany a real one.

Douwe Dijkstra

Born in 1984 in the Netherlands. Graduated from the ArtEZ Institute of the Arts in Zwolle in 2005. Makes music videos, installations, short videos, and theater productions. Along with Jules van Hulst and Coen Huisman, formed the 33 1/3 collective in 2008. His first individual exhibition, called DoorDouwe, took place in 2013, which was the reason behind the installation and short film Démontable.
