A young man dies during an expedition to the peak of Kangchenjunga in the Himalayas. His companion, Wanda, explains what happened at a press conference. One of the funeral attendees - a documentary film director - suggests Wanda return to Kangchenjunga to retrieve the missing climber's body. Anna, the boy's girlfriend, joins the expedition, upon which a film is to be based, along with her father, Jerzy, Wanda's friend. The four must contend not only with extreme weather but also with their own, complicated past. The play was inspired by material including the biography of Polish mountain climber Wanda Rutkiewicz.
