Hiding in the Lights
Austrian director Katrina Daschner exposes the illusion of spectacle created for the needs of an anonymous public who, along with the actors in the performance, participate in an artificial game in which the stakes are the pleasure and satisfaction of the audience watching. The film’s title perfectly captures the fact that what is true, real, authentic does not necessarily have to be revealed and visible.

Katrina Daschner
Lives in Vienna. She teaches at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. She has been contributing to the performances by the group SV Damenkraft since 2003. Her artistic projects have been presented all around the world. Her creative work touches on issues related to sexuality, power structures, and feminism, as well as queer issues.
